Missouri Works Initiative & Accelerator for America Virtual Discussion
Missouri Works Initiative recently joined the Accelerator for America Project Advisory Committee with Heartland Women in the Trades and partners JE Dunn & CJ Industries to discuss how training and strong partnerships connect people with union construction careers.
Our five-week Apprenticeship Ready in Construction program combines classroom instruction, hands-on learning, and placement advising to help participants build skills and confidence.
The discussion highlighted Kansas City’s STAR program, managed by JE Dunn and delivered using MWI’s curriculum. At the time of the conversation, STAR reported 184 graduates across 10 cohorts and 92% retention in the industry.
Together, we’re helping more Missourians pursue careers with family-sustaining wages, benefits, and opportunities to advance.
